The Pigeon Island National Landmark is one of various aspects of St. Lucia’s history that have been preserved and protected. Joined to the mainland via the causeway since 1970, it is not only a place of beauty, but also major archaeological and historical value. It is possible to “revisit” the turbulent past while walking through its silent ruins or by visiting a small museum inside the park. The park provides spectacular views of the North; Gros Islet Bay, Reduit beach and on clear days it is possible to see the neighbouring French Island of Martinique from the top of Fort Rodney, located on the smaller of the two hills.
