This protected National Park is accessible following a hike of about one kilometre (0.62 mile) through rich vegetation including mangroves and high cacti. From an observation post at the end of the journey one overlooks the two small Frigate Islands where birds of the same name breed during the summer. However, since the park is closed during the breeding season from early May to the end of June to protect the birds it is almost impossible to see this event live.
