The Capital City and the beating heart of the island, Castries offers a variety of opportunities to those who wish to experience an ordinary day in St. Lucia. The Castries Market opens daily although it is busiest on Saturday. Here, one may find a variety of souvenirs, handicrafts or local produce. The City Harbor, one of the deepest in the Caribbean is the place to see large cruise or ocean liners.
Visitors may choose to visit any one of two Duty-free Shopping Centers (Point Seraphine or La Place
Carenage) that line it. Visit the Derek Walcott Square and not just see Castries from two angles, the modern Castries on one side and the older Castries on the other but visit another commercial district of the island.Hotels: Sandals St. Lucia, Sandals Halcyon, Rendevous, Caribees Hotel, Auberge Seraphine Restaurants: Cafe Au Lait, Café Panache, Froggie Jack's, Green Parrot, KFC, Papa Don's Tavern, Rain, Royal Castle, San Antoine's, The Coal Pot, Sandals Restaurants |
